Scholarship Fund:

SRRC and its Scholarship Fund Committee are committed to serving the communities where we work.  As part of that commitment we have established a partial scholarship award program for residents of Florida.

CRITERIA

Seniors in high school preparing for college are eligible for the one-time partial scholarship.  Additionally, to be eligible for the partial scholarship the senior must have relocated more than 50 miles sometime between grades 9 and 12 into selected Florida areas and changed schools due to their family’s relocation.  Designated areas for eligibility will vary depending on the year the award is given. Areas will rotate between the 4 major business metros of Florida- Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete, Jacksonville, and Miami/Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton.

EVALUATION

Applicants will be required to submit a number of items for consideration for the award, including an application, high school transcripts (minimum 3.0 GPA required), list of extracurricular activities, and an essay which addresses their experiences in moving to a new area and school, and how they dealt with any related issues.  Recipient(s) will be asked to read their essay at the spring meeting while accepting their award.

Amount and number of award(s) will depend on SRRC Scholarship Fund's ability to fund this program and Worldwide ERC’s ability to match funds collected.

For the inaugural award year of 2012, a one-time award of $1000 will be presented to an area high school senior in school year 2011-2012.  The award will be sent to the college/university that the student will be attending.  Applications must be received by January 15, 2012 for consideration.  Notification to recipients will be made on or about March 1, 2012.
